  1. Because the story is so inflammatory, they don’t want to present a platform for people to get sued, or the Mod already knows it will just be a shit-storm so meh…why allow it.

  2. the story is usually closed because someone came up with a sore point, usually calling a crook a crook, (you can insert politition’s name here). or when you get too close to the real story, see horrid for ideas.

  3. They only allow feel good stories to be opened to comments. I find it funnier when a certain columnist with the initial L has columns closed to comments after 5-6 comments saying how awful the column is.

  4. Kay already made a bitch about this a while ago and it was in regards to the Williams case. This is probably her again.
