I use to be a manager at a theatre and if a child’s legal gardian is accompanying him/her child to a movie there is notheing we can do about it. We are not the parents you are.
Really? Since when? I remember not being able to go into movies theatres with my parents because it was restricted. I had no idea these rules had changed.
This is a silly comment not a rant but… One time I remember my cousin whose like almost thirty now tried to get into the theatre for cheap. He lied about his age saying he was younger so that It would cost less. Instead of getting into the movie he wanted to see he was only allowed to see the G rated movies. haha
I’m confused, if you read the actual legislation, it says the rating system is:14 Accompaniment 14A Film is not suitable for all viewers under 14 years of age 18 Accompaniment 18A Film is not suitable for all viewers under 18 years of age Restricted R Film is not suitable for viewers under 18 years of age Adult A Film is not suitable for viewers under 18 years of age because the sole or primary premise for the film is the depiction of explicit sexual activity, graphic nudity or graphic violence I realize they don’t make any distinction in the listings between 18A and R (and I haven’t seen a movie actually listed as a real R is a long freakin time), but a 10 year old still shouldn’t be able to get into an 18A movie, parents or not.If you want to see the whole legislation, which is actually in reasonably clear english, check out:http://www.gov.ns.ca/just/regulations/regs/taregs.htmNow, parents can’t supervise kids all the time, and some parents have different standards, but I think maybe it is the managers that need to do some research. The bullshit about they can’t do anything is probably a policy of the theatre to avoid pissing off the customers. But unless someone actually enforces it, and fines theatres for letting in kids, they’ll keep doing business as usual.I just wish they’d keep kids out from movies like this because it makes it hard to watch a film if some kid is freaking out. New flash parents, there are babysitters for a reason!
