Ugh, I haven't seen it yet, but I'm a fan of Lee Child's novels. And Jack Reacher is a 6'5" 250lbs monster of a man. I knew that frickin' Cruise wasn't right the minute they announced him in the role. Glad to hear it was fast paced though - it will at least do justice to the novel.
Oh man, this was our favourite spot in the North End for late-night eats. Since moving away we've been telling all of our friends to try it (as recently as a few weeks ago). I didn't realize it had closed. What a loss!
AW. I used to live on Belle Aire. That was the best neighbourhood ever. As a single girl moving from rural NB, I always felt safe and welcome in that area. I miss it, sad to say I'm back in NB...
Too bad that they had to close down. I bought a living room set from them early on, wanting to buy local and all. Honestly, it was a nightmare. Weeks over due on delivery, compounded with the WRONG furniture being delivered which then had to sit in my living room wrapped in plastic for days before someone came to pick it up, then finally, it arrived. The quality was not great. The price was right, but it's already broken, 1 year later... I knew I had no real recourse, so my partner tried to fix things as best he could.
Anyway - live and learn. I hope the owner feels the same way and if he gets into business again, can improve the whole customer service thing (which obviously didn't improve after my disaster a year ago).
Kind of like this? http://jeffonelonelyguy.tumblr.com/
It's true! They're amazing! Oh - Moncton had one first. *ahem*
I hope so too, colonel, I hope so too :(
I'm in town this weekend, and must stop in, if you're still open.
Three of us tried this out over the weekend. I've been wanting to try it for ages, mostly because it's "different".
Decor was lovely, the servers were very friendly and knowledgeable. And the food was good. We decided to go for caipirinhas and sangria to drink instead of a bottle of wine - they were a real treat.
Between us we tried the cassava cheese bread, some kind chicken appetizers, stuffed in a dough... and the mushroom carpaccio. They had a big selection of appetizers and it was hard to choose. We probably wouldn't do the mushrooms again, but the other two were delicious.
I went for the piri piri - which may have been the best thing I've had in a restaurant in a while. It was spicy, the meat was tender and juicy, it was the best meal at the table. My boyfriend had a steak and was a little disappointed in his choice and really regretted not trying the taste of brazil menu. Though he was vindicated in his choice of dessert - a white cheese/guava concoction which was truly delicious. My friend's seafood rice was ok - but very "fishy", she couldn't eat it all.
I think with selective ordering and understanding the menu a bit better, this would have been a really stellar meal for us all. We're totally up for a return trip!
Life is short.
