Shoptalk has learned Joachim Stroink, owner of The Trail Shop (6210 Quinpool Road, 423-8736), plans to open a North Face store on Barrington, in the space once occupied by Carsand Mosher (1559 Barrington). Stroink, whose Quinpool store already carries the North Face brand—including exploration apparel, footwear, equipment and accessories—intends the international brand outlet to open in August. With Mountain Equipment Co-Op (1550 Granville Street) and TAO: the Adventure Outfitters (5187 Salter Street) all within spitting distance, it makes that part of Barrington the active person’s shopping paradise.
