Paragon Theatre
Para-gone party
One of the city’s best live music venues is bidding us all farewell, and in true Irish wake fashion—they’re celebrating rather than mourning. Smack in the middle of a solid weekend of entertainment at the Paragon is this show. Over the past two years, Peter Farmer has painted over120 of the friendly faces that’ve made […]
Eureka! Mother Mother’s in town
Vancouver’s indie power-pop-rock quintet Mother Mother will hit the end of a coast-to-coast road this Friday at the Paragon Theatre. The band’s frontman/producer Ryan Guldemond says the cross-country trek is nothing new, but it’s still a great experience. “This is familiar turf for us, but coming off the heels of a new release gives it […]
Born Ruffians rock the Paragon
Midland, Ontario’s Born Ruffians may have conquered Europe and parts of Australia with their high-energy minimalist rock, but in the band’s seven-year career, the east coast has always eluded them. “It’s kind of strange that it’s been this long in our career since we’ve been out there,” says Mitch Derosier, bassist and vocalist for the […]

Everyone from Sloan to Arcade Fire to Feist have filled its space with sound. “The state of the music scene is not what […]

The band’s 2009 release We Are An Empire, My Dear has recently been picked up by both UK label Conehead and […]
