31 Westgate opens
“We wanted to bring [lighting] lines not represented to Halifax,” says Colin Blanchard, who with partner Ken McRobbie, have decades of combined experience in interior design consulting and lighting. Their new place, 31 Westgate (2698 Agricola Street, 457-3131, at the corner of May) joins two other recently opened north end interior design and retail studios, Nelson & Co (5881 Almon Street, 444-6050) and Kevin Muise Interiors (2063 Gottingen Street, 405-8455). Besides a continued consulting service, Blanchard and McRobbie’s 31 Westgate will offer a variety of exclusive lighting design options, from brands including Ralph Lauren Lighting, Barbara Barry and Thom Filicia.
