  1. I’ve been riding all winter. The key is to have studded tires. They’re expensive, but I’ve been using the same set for 5 years now.

I try to avoid the main streets unless I have to, as I don’t want to slow traffic down too much (I try to be a good ambassador), but I can ride on the icy side streets faster than a car can drive.

  2. It’s natural selection baby!
Let God sort ’em out! Your life, your free will. Don’t blame us, the smart folk, for putting your own life in danger!!

  3. I’m from Australia and rode to work everyday for a whole year when I lived in Halifax.
I remember first riding in Summer and people saying “How will you get around in the Winter?” and I’d say “Ride?”.
It was a challenge sometimes but always heaps of fun and way easier with the Mtb I had rather than a road bike. I remember one day trying to slow down on an icy road and I put one foot down and then some how rotated and did a full 360 spin without crashing, like I was in a cartoon. I miss Halifax!!

  4. Also I just noticed. Really?! You’re from Australia and you miss Halifax?
Oh wait. I read the rest of the post. I understand why you miss it. You fit in perfectly.
