Today was the longest bike of the tour (I secretly know this because I may or may not be writing this blog at the end of the tour); 168km. This was a long bike coupled with the fact that I played music until 2:15am the night before, tear-down until 3:00am and fell asleep around 4:20am.
Biking this long definitely made the day tight as, after my new standard Jumbo breakfast with 2 pancakes, 3 eggs, 2 pieces of toast, bacon, ham and sausages gave me just enough energy to make the long trek to lunch stop.
Along the way, I saw A BEAR after hoping for so long in the BC to see one. Unfortunately, it was not the crazy, write to Stephen Colbert kind where, if I could get a shot of it pre-mauling, it might make its way onto The Threat-Down. It was just a cute little one that you wanted to go see if you could get to climb aboard your bike’s trailer and take it for the ride:
At the end of this long day, and boy was it ever long, it was great to get into Parry Sound and relax and sleep like there was no tomorrow (when I got into town it looked as if a Fair was going on; turns out that the local theatre someone managed to get both Harry Potter and Transformers for its duplex opening weekend and so the whole of mainstreet was crammed with wizards and robots.
