So… things break and my bike is a thing and so I guess, by this logic, it would need to break at some point, which it did today. The spoke situation got worse until, eventually, the wheel was just rubbing right into the bike’s frame and not doing the whole “moving forward” thing. Luckily, after my first 10mins of hitch-hiking, I managed to find a ride with this nice guy who was on the job delivering pumps around the Edmonton area. His words about why he picked me up were awesome: “I figured you weren’t gonna have a weapon because it’d be hard to hide in a biking outfit”. He took me into the biggest bike shop I’ve ever been in where I found out I was going to have to get a new wheel installed and custom made too because of the irregular bike I managed to pick out… (awesome!)
