Now that I have the attention of both procrastinators and local loving folks: have you signed the Buy Local Pledge yet? If so, good for you. If not, you probably should. And if you still haven’t pledged, chances are you’ve put off starting your holiday shopping, too. It’s OK, the people behind the Last Minute Christmas Craft Show (this Saturday and Sunday, 11am-6pm) can relate. Just when you thought crafter season had wrapped the Halifax Forum‘s Maritime Hall (2901 Windsor Street) will be bustling with the local artists and artisans and loads of handmade, one-of-a-kind gift ideas. Chocolate Goddess sweets, toys from The Sparrow Tree, nerdy teacups and mugs from Mad Tea, natural perfumes from The Graces’ Attar and wacky designs from the Quarrelsome Yeti are just a couple of examples of the 60 vendors that’ll be there this weekend. You’ll be able to cross at least a few names off that list of yours no doubt.
