The internet brought some sad news today after The Fish Shop at Pier 20 announced the end of its Seaport Farmers Market business, a tough decision for its owner, Peter Boudreau, who said it all in a Facebook post about an hour ago.

The Fish Shop has closed for good today. As most of you know it has been a very difficult couple of years trying to bring Halifax the very best seafood. I have decided to close the shop before signing a new lease with the HPA.

I would like to thank our customers, staff, friends, family, fellow vendors, and the Halifax Port Authority for all of your continued support. It was one of my greatest pleasures to be at the market working with all of you, and you will be dearly missed.

I wish the HPA & Julie continued success in their efforts to bring Halifax a world class farmers market, and I look forward to cruising the isles in the very near future. I will always be a dedicated customer as I know the very best local products are found at the Seaport Market, and the passion those venders bring for local products is simply unavailable anywhere else.

Thanks,
Peter
