The rumour mill started spinning on Tuesday when, instead of re-opening after the long weekend, TAO: The Adventure Outfitters (5187 Salter Street) papered over its entrance and posted a sign that read “Store Closed Until November 15. Sorry for Any Inconvenience.” Calls and emails to the owner went unanswered, and there was no sign of retail life at TAO until the deal was sealed on the 15th when the notice of temporary closure was replaced by two sheets of leasing information for the space, confirming the assumptions of many.
TAO moved from Bayers Lake to its downtown location two years ago. The store’s owner George Zakher could not be reached for comment.
