Now open is the Sunwich Cafe (136 McClure Close, Dartmouth Crossing, 481-6609), in the freestanding box located in the middle of the parking lot just across from Le Chateau, former home of the Java Factory. They offer sandwiches, soup and salads, all freshly made in front of you. Currently open for lunch and dinner, with breakfasts starting next week.

  1. Had a sandwich there today. Nothing special…..thickly sliced deli turkey (reminded me of spam somehow). They don’t ask you what you want, you get what they slap on it. Mine had a sickly sweet sauce on both sides (something like Diana sauce for chicken), a small smear of cranberry sauce, a slice of cheese (provolone?), tomato, lettuce, and an overabundance of alfalfa sprouts (which is basically all I could taste!!).

I wouldn’t go out of my way for it. Not bad if your around there. Pete’s is way, way better.

  2. Had their Ham Sandwich. It was great. Real slice of ham and a nice pinapple-based sauce. The bread is good too. The menu tells you what is on the sandwich and you can just ask for them to omit what you don’t want/like. Their salads are good too. Everyone I know that has tried it has liked it.
