Is Russell Walker still alive? We haven’t noticed. There’s been no sign of life from the councillor for Fairview. None. The wax figurines at Madame Tussauds are more animated, and more effective.

Walker’s part of a broader trend – that suburban and rural councillors can float by, do next to nothing to make the city better, respond to requests to clean up dog poop, and nobody notices.
Urban councillors seem to have the wolves at their door all the time, looking for change, but these guys might as well hibernate for four years. A perfect example of why the city should be a city and the county should be a county – with 6-8 city councillors, Walker wouldn’t last a month.
It is so frustrating listening to the very inept and rudderless HRM Council. Consider this fact. This sometimes Council is managed by senior HRM staff. The tail wagging the dog. It’s time for a number of long serving Councillors who seem lost in a fog, to step aside and allow other candidates with proven managerial experience, and willing to make decisions based on their research and not based entirely on HRM staff.’s opinion. It’s time for a new Council to take charge of Municipal affairs.
