After almost 25 years in business, Pro Skateboards and Snowboards (5222 Blowers Street, 429-6788) are changing things up again. They’re shutting down their three stores, the two on Blowers (including Pro Girl, 5240 Blowers Street, 405-3535) and Pro Skates Uptown (6070 Quinpool Road, 406-4006), and moving everything into a new location for September 1, at 6451 Quinpool Road, between Tim Horton’s and Subway, across from House of Dogs.
“It’s gonna be sick, man,” says co-owner Zach Tovey. “We’re going to have guys, girls, everything. We’ve got pretty major plans.”
Tovey reports that the building they’re currently occupying is scheduled to be torn down, so with that and the Pro Girl lease up in November, this seemed like an ideal time to consolidate their overhead and move everything to a single space. Tovey says the new location is large enough to fit all the stock from the three stores, and will be fully renovated inside with a brand new floor-to-ceiling window storefront.
“It’s right next door to the where we started almost 25 years ago,” says Tovey. “So we’re kind of going home.”
