Shoptalk reported a few months back that the much-adored Pete’s Frootique deli was opening in a new location later in the year. Well, that’s happened: Pete’s To Go Go, 1801 Hollis Street, open from 7am-7pm. You’ll find plenty of breakfast foods, sandwiches, salads and soups, as well as an excellent selection of java juice. For more detail on what’s on offer check out their website here.

The space feels chaotic and claustrophobic during the lunch rush. When the single (enormous) line forks into the three counters (soup, sandwich salad), there’s no easy way to get back in a line to pay without getting confused. Staff are yelling (albeit politely and necessarily) to serve the next person. Is there no better way to organize this? I felt like I’d just completed an obstacle course by the time I got out of there. Prices are high, but so is the quality of ingredients. I will probably go again, but before or after the rush.
Great place…..don’t let the long lines discourage you….they move quick! Healthy, hearty and fresh
