Jason “Dr J” Suter has been doing tattoo work since the late 80s, and Permanent Ink (3040 Oxford Street, 444-4465) has been open since 1990 in a variety of Halifax locations, including Spring Garden Road, the corner of Bilby and Isleville and 6243 Almon. Now on Oxford, the studio also includes artist Becky MacKeigan. “For 24 years Jason Suter has built a loyal base of longterm clients offering up large scale intricate work in bio-mech and all things Giger,” she explains in an email. You can also look to them for Traditional Japanese, Tribal, Modern Tribal, Modern, Organic, Fantasy and Celtic. MacKeigan loves to paint humorous skeletons and is your go-to girl for script, owls, and anything nautical.
