There is some kind of irony to all these outdoor gear outlets opening in Halifax’s downtown. We’ll let you muse on that while we tell you that Patagonia, the international activewear apparel company, has opened a shop in the Historic Farmer’s Market Building, also known as the Brewery Market, 1496 Lower Water Street. The phone number is 422-2060. The new store features Patagonia’s full line of apparel and equipment.
The 2,800 sq.ft, two level store has been fully renovated. The company is very vocal on its environmental commitment, and as such is using solar heating, reclaimed materials and LED lighting in the new store. The floors consist of lumber from a World War II airplane hangar and original slate and cobblestones.
