All day breakfast—there’s something about those three words working together that’s magical. We were delighted to get a tip that lead to a brand new spot in Dartmouth that’s got bacon and eggs on the brain after the morning hours end. Nena’s All Day Breakfast (273 Wyse Road, 406-0006) popped up near the corner of Wyse and Albro Lake roads last week, offering a bright little spot to eat in, take out or hang out for hours. “There’s nothing really like it in the area,” says the resto’s manager Andy Tidd. “I just really wanted to accommodate the people in the neighbourhood.” Open from 6am until 6pm, Nena’s focusses— of course—on serving the best meal of the day all day, but also offers home cooking-style lunch specials prepared before your very eyes in its open concept kitchen. Looks like it’s going to be a beautiful morning, afternoon and evening in north Dartmouth.

  1. Oh. My. God. THAT is the MOST BEAUTIFUL THING I’ve ever seen in The Coast.
Must somehow be a violation of your Standards & Practices Code, huh?
    No matter. Carry on.

  2. Correct address: 273 Wyse Road, Dartmouth. Next to Showtime variety store (corner of Albro lake and Wyse rd.)

  3. eat here this morning, nice bright clean place, i had the big breakfast it was great, wife had nenas choice she said it was great.
we live in the area i will be back.
they have a 4.95 early bird special from 6 till 10 am daily.

  4. doesnt take much to please me…..but this place is pure crap. they give you canned beans and soggy toast…asked for maple syrup..got a plastic jug of aunt jemima’s…SWEAR TO GOD ! They know that has zero maple in it right ??? The cook told me with pride he has been in this industry 35 years.

  5. I would like to comment on the last comment. I was there eating breakfast when the guy who posted the last comment walked into Nena’s Breakfast Tuesday morning. By the looks of things he had had a long night and walked in hungover with eyes barely open, and was everything but an easy to get along with person. The waitress who was working tried time after time to please him and nothing she could do was satisfying. The chef working also did the same, answering questions and explaining to the guy that at the present time they did not have maple syrup but we’re in the proccess of ordering some. So, I guess the reason I felt the need to comment is because I’ve been to Nena’s Breakfast House several times now and have been more then pleased everytime! Exceptional service and great quality food. Don’t let one assholes comment veer you away from going there….my guess would be if the guy could have opened his eyes…he would’ve seen the delicious plate of food sitting in front of him and not given a 1 star rating due to the lack of maple syrup. Just Saying. Good luck to Nena’s Breakfast house and all the staff 🙂

  6. Ask and you shall receive… since moving into this forgotten n forsaken community of Dartmouth North I have noticed it needs many things and as a Scot our priorities include a tea spot. Not to take away from the awesome staff at Tims on the other side, but when I seen Nenas open I became suspicious right away. I have wanted this plaza corner of Wyse and Albro Lake torn down for ages as it sets a low to no standard in this community that has become the expected standard from other communities looking in. Fighting slumlandlords etc is par the course here as too many including public servants and others come to this community expecting nothing. Until now.

So taking my time with squinted eyes I finally walked in and was awed immediately and Im not easily impressed.. Not having time for even tea I pulled an alfie…just wanted to peek to see what it was all about. The new standard was obvious in its mod décor, staff friendliness and obvious cleanliness. The entire location has been gutted out from its previous state and you could never expect to find such a polished gem in an ole ugly shell of a plaza. It took me another month to finally try it out so using a small meeting as my excuse I went and had the early bird special… well we stayed for almost 2 hours losing time as the food was deelish, service accommodating and immediately fell into the cozy comfort of the décor. Its oddly quiet given its at a busy intersection.

I have thanked the owner n staff for validating my beliefs that it is never too late to promote an acceptable or new higher standard in a community that has next to none. It is noticed an very much appreciated. It is my new fav spot and has wifi so I can come for tea or breakfast and get work done in the quiet hum of a spot where the smells and atmosphere are as if you are in your own kitchen ( unless you are bad cook then ignore my comment lol ). Great to see the staff are from the community or live in the community and its just so awesome to finally have standard here that was over due and craved though the community did to know it yet.

Try out Nenas Breakfast House and see if you don’t brag about it..I dare you !

ps.sent from Nenas wifi as I sip my cuppa after my deelish breakie and special thanks again to the owners and staff for having faith in this community and giving it a chance for your new business ….I applaud your bravado and obvious service smarts.
