They were hoping to be up and running this week, with all the inspections and menu complete, they’re just waiting for the liquor licence to come through, so be sure to drop by Moda Urban Dining (1518 Dresden Row, 405-3480) in the old Anatolia space in the next little while to see if the doors are open. Serving lunch and dinner, the hours are Monday through Thursday 11am-10pm, Friday and Saturday 11am-11pm. The owners are Melissa Buckley and Matt Pridham, a former sous-chef at Fiasco. The vibe is “relaxed fine dining, trying to take the pretention out of it,” says Buckley, who says you can expect gourmet twists on classic lunch item to cost an average of $14 and dinner somewhere around $25. And the menu? “Globally influenced,” says Buckley, with regional flavours of Thailand, France, Italy and Germany, often found on the same plate or even dish.
