“Apple is very secretive and they’re very good at that. They don’t let stuff leak. We know as soon as the public does. But I suspect there’ll be a new iPad in 2011. They’ll probably put a camera in it or have a small version and a large version. And Apple TV will become more popular as people become more aware of it.”

“I guess my most quotable thing is what won’t be hot in 2011: 3DTVs. There’s almost a complete lack of software, only a few movies are 3D. And people are A) uncomfortable wearing the glasses, B) don’t care and C) it gives them headaches. I predict by Christmas 2011 the death knell for 3D TVs will be sounding loudly. What’s hot in our store are custom installations. People are dedicating rooms in their homes to entertainment systems and big screens. Turntables are still big and high end audio continues to be strong.”

“It’s hard to predict because a lot of manufacturers don’t announce their new tech until January. You see stuff being pushed through the fall until Christmas. For us, we found that the past couple of months we’re doing a lot of service and repair work.”

“We’re more commercial than retail, but I can tell you that better, faster wireless routers are going to be big. Laptops, absolutely. Bigger screen monitors. A lot of people are using them as TVs, buying 23 or 27” monitors. Windows 7, Office 2010, 64 bit operating systems and Linux, for people who know what that is.”
