What’s wrong? Is the new service dog park next to Centennial Pool in the wrong location?

Remarks: We’ve received complaints about the new park—the adjoining six points intersection is a hazard for sighted people, never mind blind folks, and Cogswell and Rainnie Streets are crazy busy, noisy and such. That’s all wet, says Bigelow. The new park makes use of what was previously poorly maintained dead space, and was vetted and approved by the Persons With Disabilities Committee, members of which have service dogs. We’ll wait until the park is open later this summer before we give it a paws up or paws down.

I have just moved to Halifax and am dismayed at the lack of off-leash areas in this city to take my dog. To my knowledge there are only 2, and neither is within walking distance for us. Is this park only available for service dogs or can anyone go there? I strongly urge the city to designate more space for dogs to play off leash with their responsible owners.
