We just received the following email from the folks at The Hub (1673 Barrington):
Dear Friends,
Tracy & I want you to join us for an adventurous and interesting TUESDAY evening that could help someone in our community get ahead with their enterprising idea. We know it is short notice but we expect you will find it rewarding and a lot of fun.
Tomorrow evening (June 12), starting at 6.00pm, the Hub is co-hosting an event in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce and Awesome Halifax. The event is an opportunity for 20 people in our community to pitch their ideas to community ‘investors’ and try to get some start-up support and encouragement to move forward. Investors are individuals who are willing to show up with a $100 contribution, mingle and listen to pitches you are interested in and put money down for the ideas you like best.
This is a way for you to make a ‘micro’ investment in someone in this community. This investment is seen mostly as encouragement and a mini-endorsement for people to go forward with their ideas. Beyond the ‘micro’ investment, you may meet someone or see something that inspires you to connect after the event.
There will be food and drink available for everyone to enjoy and it is an opportunity to do good and have fun!
Can you give more than $100? Sure, but $100 is the minimum contribution.
Please tell us if you can come by replying to this email, or just show up and encourage any of your friends and connections. The more people who come, the more fun we will all have and more investment will occur!
