This past April benchmarked 40 years in the bike biz for the Jack Nauss Bicycle Shop (2533 Agricola). In order to celebrate Al Barbour threw a vintage bike show on June 1. The show featured low riders, high-wheelers, older cruiser bikes from the 1920s and penny farthings (turn-of-the-century bike with a huge front wheel and tiny one in the back).
“There’s been quite a few changes at the shop,” says Barbour. “Jack passed away last year at 80 years old. His son Dave is now in charge of the shop. We thought about interesting ways to celebrate the business and came up with a vintage bicycle show featuring bikes from the 1890s to 1990s.”
