The Halifax-Dartmouth & District Labour Council has issued its list of endorsed council candidates. Interestingly, the council declined to endorse any candidates in Districts 1, 4, 11, 12, 13, 14 and 16.
The endorsements are:
District 2 – Preston – Porter’s Lake – Eastern Shore – Gail McQuarrie
District 3 – Dartmouth South – Eastern Passage – Woodside – Jackie Barkhouse
District 5 – Dartmouth Centre – Bill Zebedee
District 6 – Harbourview – Burnside – Dartmouth East – Jerry Pye
District 7 – Peninsula South – Downtown – Waye Mason
District 8 – Peninsula North – Jennifer Watts
District 9 – Peninsula West – Armdale – John Wimberly
District 10 – Birch Cove – Rockingham – Fairview – John Thibeau
District 15 – Lower Sackville – Ian Wilson

A Twitter user gives Bill Zebedee a congratulations on getting the endorsement. His response? “Thanks Bethany, as I said, in this two way race between myself and the incumbent every vote matters”
Two way race? There are 7 candidates in your district, Bill. Cocky much?
Anyone who got an endorsement must reject them. Municipal politics is suppose to be grassroots which is why candidates do not run under party banners (yeah I know LOL). No organization should be able to endorse or contribute money in a municipal election.
