We’re very sad to report that longtime gelato cafe Dio Mio (65-5670 Spring Garden Road on Brenton, 492-3467) has closed as of November 2. Their Dartmouth location is still open as of this writing. Please watch this space for more information as we get it. | They said they were here for the long haul when they opened this summer, but we guess that didn’t work out. Funtastic Liquidation (2411 Agricola) has also closed up shop.

Dio Mio was the ONLY ice cream venue in Halifax, we are devastated! We can`t wait to see it come back elsewhere. We were always treated regally by Dio Mio staff, perhaps the above commentator treated Dio Mio employees badly…
Why must all the places in town that combine casual atmosphere with kick-ass desserts close???? I mean, Dio Mio, The Italian Gourmet…
