The former Value Village building in downtown Dartmouth is soon to be home to the Harbourview Weekend Market.
“It’s part farmers’ market, part flea market, part antiques,” explains owner Gary Janes, who successfully ran a similar operation in London, Ontario, before moving back to his native Maritimes.
Janes says there will be 200 booth spaces available. “About a third of the space will be for farmers, and about a fifth for a food court,” he explains.
He acknowledges that securing farmers can be difficult, “but that’s the key to it—farmers is what brings the customers back.”
Harbourview Weekend Market will open July 11. As the name suggests, it will be open Saturdays and Sundays only, 9am-5pm. For booth rental or other info, call Janes at 407-3323, or drop him an email at hwmarket@eastlink.ca.
