Enchanted Forest actually has been open since May 2009. It is a website-based business operated out of my home, so no physical store front. Enchanted Forest primarily does online sales across Canada with free local pickup available. We offer product consultation as well – just call to arrange an appointment to see and learn about our selection of products in person. Thanks 🙂 – Erin Comeau (Owner)
pretty sure Portland Estates is not zoned to allow a home-based commercial business. Just sayin’…if HRM recently threatened to shut down a restaurant located within view of the Hydrostone Market, what’s stopping them from shutting down a retail business located in the middle of a residential subdivision?
R1 zoning in Portland Estates (and most residential subdivisions surrounding) states that a maximum of 300 square feet be used in the home for the business and there must be availability to park 3 cars in driveway to accomodate. As well, a sign no larger then two square feet be placed at the road. I’ve visited Enchanted Forest before, and it is a wonderful online store. The owner Erin is certainly a pleasure to deal with. Best of luck on your continued business venture!
