Coast analysis
Because it has the lowest population of any of the districts, each voter in the newly formed District 14 have more power than voters elsewhere in HRM. The UARB’s reasoning was that Upper Sackville is expected to be the fastest growing part of the metropolis in coming years. Should it be? What does that mean for the people who live there already? We’re waiting to hear the candidates address these issues head-on, but so far there’s not much.

Brad Johns is practicing dirty politics. Laurie Sauers signs have gone missing all along the Lucasville Road. Last night at the Wallace Lucas Community Centre we had a chance to meet some candidates. Only Sauers and Fred Connors showed up. Brad parked his campaign minivan outside the centre but couldn’t be bothered to come inside where a group of citizens were prepared to let him know exactly how he has disapponted them over the years.
