A couple of notes:
Plans for Maritime Centre were submitted before the view planes were adopted. The by-law adopted has a provision preventing building parallel to the edge of a view plane from that time forward.
There are other height limits downtown. For example, the site of the Nova Centre has a height limit of 90 feet. HRM Council granted exemptions to allow the towers of the Nova Centre.
