Hi Tim,
Just a note in response to councillor Peter Lund’s C+ rating from a
resident of his district of St. Margaret’s Bay. Yes, councillor Lund is
new and unproven in council.
But from our viewpoint, he has been a refreshing champion in helping
the community bring the surge of new commercial development under
control and more in line with community values. He was instrumental in
passing an HRM Development Agreement bylaw amendment which now requires
that big developments such as box stores meet community standards; he
also endorsed a community visioning process for Tantallon at the
Crossroads that will result in new “Village Design Standards” being
implemented. He’s been thoughtful, a listener, responsive to community
concerns, a facilitator and we feel very lucky to have him represent
us. Three community groups recently presented him with a Community
Recognition Award for commitment to St. Margaret’s Bay. He gets an A
