To the editor,
Lawrence Martin wrote in the Globe and Mail (“To save
journalism,” Mar. 19) that “Journalism got soft and corporate.”
I emailed him and recommended he check out “Victims of the
Herald” (Mar. 19) by Stephen Kimber in The Coast.
I’ve had another look at the article. Now that’s what I call gutsy,
call a spade a spade, take no prisoners, damn the torpedoes, show no
mercy, I-don’t-care-whose-feathers-I-ruffle, in-your-face journalism.
Congratulations.
With a few more Stephen Kimbers, Canadian journalism would lose its
cover-your-ass ennui. Circulation would go up.
