To the editor,

You operate on the assumption that most of your readers are not
interested in classical music and you’re probably right. Hence I don’t
complain that you don’t review classical CDs regularly. And Sean Flinn
did a great job on his story “Peter Allen’s brainstorm” (Sep. 25, 2008)
about my friend Peter Allen’s Hurricane Juan Concerto. But when
you asked people to pick their record of the year for your Discs of the
Year issue (Nov. 27, 2008), you could have asked more people who were
likely to pick a classical CD. And in your Best of Halifax issue (Nov.
13, 2008), you should have had a classification for Best Classical
Store. Since the demise of Sam the Record Man, the only store with an
adequate supply of classical records is The Madrigal. And where did I
pick up your publication? At The Madrigal!
