If youre spent the last couple months groggily mourning the loss of lovely Barrington caffeine provider The Mudroom Cafe (1541 Barrington), cheer up: a new cafe, Ciboulette, opened its doors in the former Mudroom space this Monday. The cafes co-owned by Craig Flinn (the owner/chef of Chives Canadian Bistro, Ciboulettes next-door neighbour) and Brady Muller, a former Chives apprentice. Heather Dickison, the cafes head chef, is another Chives veteran. With everyone involved in this place having worked at Chives, we all feel the same philosophy about how food should be—it should be local and seasonal, and fresh, points out Muller.
All the cafes soups, salads, sandwiches and baked goods will be prepared fresh daily in the Chives kitchen; specials will change with the seasons. And, they cater! Mullers being mysterious about the goodies on Ciboulettes menu, but expect sticky pecan buns. Also on the menu: a signature Ciboulette coffee blend, which has a noticeable chocolate aroma, and a Mudroom blend (dark and strong, just like at the Mudroom.) We love the Mudroom, so theres absolutely every reason in the world that we wanted to keep that says Muller. Give Ciboulette a welcome at 423-JAVA.
