I wanted to let you know that a BBQ/lawn party will be held on Friday evening (June 27th) on Chebucto road with the theme: A Living Wake For Our Trees .
Come out and celebrate the life of the seven mature trees soon to be no longer with us thanks to our City Planners! Anyone interested is welcome tovisit each tree to pay their final respects to the seven about to be taken.
This is a community party to acknowledge the years of shade, oxygen, autumn colour, that these seven silent neighbours provided over the years.
Cyclists (of critical mass) will be arriving between 6:30 & 7:00pm. Bring blankets, BBQ’s, and instruments. Also, bring flowers to plant or lay around the trees.

I think its awesome how the residents of Chebucto Road have those yellow signs parked next to their driveways, in many cases a few feet from their cars. Whose neighourhood do they drive through to get to work/shop/see a movie/get out of town?
Cranky: I challenge you to explain how car ownership automatically obligates you to unconditionally favor road expansion, no matter how costly and destructive it might be.
