We’ve organized a peaceful demonstration against the widening of Chebucto which will take place this Tuesday, the 8th of July at 5pm at City Hall. We ask that everyone wear yellow and bring signs/banners. Rain or shine. If we do nothing, this project will happen. We can prevail. This is not merely about the cutting down trees, it’s about the lack of vision our council has shown us.
It’s also very important that anyone who can be on Chebucto tomorrow morning for breakfast do so. Joe and Pamela will partake in a Lennon/Ono style Bed-In for Streets at 7 am. They need help singing ‘Give Peace a Chance.’ The goal is to peacefully prevent the tree cutting trucks from cutting even one more branch.
