Due to declining business downtown Brussels has closed its doors for good. We thank all our customers for a great 5 years. Cheers!

After five years of serving up an almost incomparable beer selection, tapas and more on Granville Square, Brussels Restaurant & Brasserie (1873 Granville Street) has closed its doors for good. An late-rent eviction notice appeared on its front door (hat tip to my pal Halifax ReTales for crowd-sourcing that), but the resto tweeted “declining business downtown” was to blame. No one could be reached for comment on the closure.
Budding entrepreneurs: this location is a beauty and Granville Square is the cutest, what’s next for this location? Put your thinking caps on!

Very sad. Terrific restaurant.
Thanks for the 5 years; you will be sorely missed.
The continuing effect of suburban developments – the death of cities.
This is the second restaurant to close this year owned by the Hamachi group. I guess the drug bust of one of its principals has had a trickle down effect on the businesses. Only a matter of time before they all close in my opinion.
