To drivers on Inglis st: How fucking hard is it to stop at the crosswalk between Bland and South Bland streets? Whenever I’m about to cross on that crosswalk, I frequently have to wait for a break in traffic because 95% of you won’t STOP for me! Okay, there are a few of you who do stop and sometimes you don’t stop because you don’t notice me. However, on several occasions, I’d be standing there with bags of heavy groceries, and some motherfuckers will drive by and stare right at me! I know you see me and don’t fucking give me any smug look as you drive by unless you want one of my hard heavy grocery items through your windshield!

Same in the North End, except your sentiment applies to pretty much every crosswalk – even those governed by traffic lights. It seems, as a general rule, the more expensive the car the less apt to stop. The other favourite are left turns at North & Agricola and North & Robie. The number of hits (a nudge is a hit in my books…they have a car, we’re on foot), near misses, and pedestrian jump backs on a daily basis is frightening. My dog (he’s geriatric and a bit slow) was nearly hit a few months ago as some 40+ ponsy, pudgy pink guy raced the amber and made a last-second left without signaling while we were exiting the crosswalk.
I am a driver, but also a pedestrian and I feel your rage!!! And yup, it’s every crosswalk pretty much! I’ve been stopped at crosswalks to let people cross and honked my horn at several drivers to stop, and they look at you and drive by…I’ve been almost hit numerous times on crosswalks throughout town…I would throw a canned good at a windshield…hahaha, and Three, there shouldn’t be any left hand turns at either of these intersections from any direction….I am glad your doggy was not hit.
