Bill C-10 (AKA the Conservative omnibus bill) passed, and none of you did shit. I know you didn’t, and now you’re complaining about it as a fucking coffee shop talking point you heard about on Twitter.

This is a bill that gives us stiffer penalties and mandatory sentences for drug crimes such as possession, puts kids away for longer, and makes it harder to get pardons. Besides studies showing that these things don’t lower rates of re-offense, besides the fact that these kind of laws BREED criminals, Bill C-10 is the result of the Prison Industry lobby wanting to make money off your incarceration. More than one of you reading this will be affected by it.

Write your senators and your MLA next time or else put your head down and have a sip of your latte and talk about your fucking HBO shows instead, you little non-contributing shits. —I’m Going to Jail and So are You

  1. agreed, it’s a scary bassackwards bill and i will do my best to stay out of the *bighouse* i think i know who wrote this

  2. These laws do not breed criminals.
I’m tired of hearing about kids getting away with crimes cause of the young offenders act. Its about time something is being done about it. Maybe the stupid kids who commit these crimes will learn from there mistakes for once.
The justice system has failed with giving these criminals a break when they do not deserve one. Finally something is being done about it.

  3. Actually MissPinky, this bill puts someone who grows a few pot plants for their own use, in prison for a mandatory sentence longer than a child molester !
Anyone IMO who thinks a pot head is a worse citizen more deserving of manditory jail time than a child molester…shouldn’t be allowed to be in an elected position…actually I believe we should legally be allowed to have them killed ,if that’s their opinion, because they are a complete waste of food !

  4. WAIT! You forgot the fuckheads who voted Harper in; those who voted Liberal, Green & otherwise and the Fuckheads who didn’t vote.

    Did YOU votes, Fuckhead?

  5. I did my part, I voted for a party other than the conservatives, for this very reason. This was an election platform for fuck sakes, and all you idiots that voted conservative are directly responsible for this regressive bullshit.I wonder how popular this bill will be when these supporters sons and daughters go to prison as a casualty of the mandatory minimums. You yourself may not be a criminal, but it’ll sure come as a surprise when your family members are on their way to the pen, for Marijuana “crimes”, or should I say “the most heinous of crimes against humanity”.

This is the only part of this bill that I don’t agree with, I don’t care about young offenders rights, or sex offenders. Fuck’em, let them rot in jail. The way they have written the bill as it pertains to marijuana minimum plant allowance, they are going to force the guy/girl that grows his outdoor crop in the summer for the entire year, to have a shortfall and be forced to support criminals to get pot he/she would normally have been able to grow, without the threat of jail time. Let’s just take family oriented, employed, tax paying citizens and fuck up their families, careers, etc, and fire them in jail to be a bane on the taxpayer. That’ll teachem!

The federal government is also in the process of trying to figure out how to eliminate medical marijuana grow permits, forcing patients to become criminals for growing their own or bilking them of hard earned money to buy government sanctioned pot. Fucking chickenhawks!!!

This government has been warned by every other country, that actually looked up to Canadas progressive policies toward pot, that they are going down a road to financial ruin. Look at the states, a trillion dollar annual budget for prisons, and a bunch of big businesses running to the bank with bags of “the peoples money”, all in the name of pot prohibition. Welcome to the new and improved “Canamerica”, with president Harper at the wheel. Yeehawww!!!

The government needs to stay the fuck out of decisions that don’t concern them, like the prohibition of a fucking plant. It’s pathetic that the overwhelming majority of Canadian citizens, are in favour of decriminalizing pot, but the government that represents our interests brings forth new legislation that outlaws it further, and imposes harsher sentences. WTF??? This government should be shamed out of office for this gross misrepresentation of our interests.

  6. Well, then, seems like some of us need to dust off our ‘occupy’ togs…fight the power!

  7. Hey, OB, I did my part damnit! Watched me a video on YouTube and had my FB status read, “We gutz tah stop dis!” with a link to an article about the bill written by some blogger.

  8. like anything else gubment, it had to be. these people in those offices don’t give a fuck about the little people, some of who put them there i the first place. they only care about the power they wield thru their stupid ass bills and shit.
from what i understand, any amount of drugs are illegal, never mind that personel use bullshit either.illegal is still illegal. no matter how much or how little.in reality, i support a bill like this, but no to the extent of the sentences.
yeah i know, you all need your weed, well i need and want my smokes, so there, we are even on this one.

  9. and by the way, if it is illegal, then having it makes you a criminal, a minor one, but still a criminal. and as i said, there is no such thing as personel use in the c.c.c., check it out. where is all our law students at today, surely there is at least one lurking on this site. you don’t do any crime, youdon’t do any time, SIMPLE AS THAT.

  10. It’s about time. Those against this are also the first one to bitch when people are let out early and reoffend. Just remember, if they’re inside, they can’t rob you or worse. As for the maryjane, they’re allowing 6 plants, vice none, before this passed.

  11. I hope cops that break the law get stiffer sentences too. And don’t forget those pesky cab drivers who drive under the speed limit deliberately!

  12. Typical, Tim, typical.

Another cop that has been brainwashed into thinking that pot is actually part of the “drug|” problem in this country. The drug driven crime has little to nothing to do with pot. It has more to do with highly addictive substances that actually alter your bodies chemistry, and the physical need for the drug, just for basic functionality, completely veto’s any concious decision between what is right or wrong. It’s unfortunate that there are still people out there, like you, that are completely backward in their thinking.

It’s funny that if you get caught selling weed, and only weed, you will go to prison for a minimum of two years. If you are a huge pharmaceutical company pumping out highly addictive pain killers, and handing out prizes for their most over-prescribing doctors, you get tax breaks and record billion dollar profits, year after year. If you are a tobacco company, selling death, with absolutely nothing to offer but costs to an overextended healthcare system, you get multi-million dollar (possibly billion, I’m only guessing) profits, and a price for product guarantee from the government. If you a producer and supplier of alcohol, you don’t have to worry about selling it, the government does it for you, assuming the responsibility of warehouseing, distribution, all the retail spaces and employees for you. As a sweet bonus, the government gets a monopoly, and reams the public for double what the product is actually worth. Seem about right, Tim? Thank dog the police, and governments, are there to protect us from ourselves!!!

  13. Though I’m all for the throttling of sex offenders, I am however not terribly educated in regards to the proper methods to address youth offenders so I will not comment on that aspect.

I believe the only reason why the Conservative (or pretty much any other political party for that matter) crack down so fiercely on Wacky Tobacky (to be crude) is that they have not found a way to monopolize and tax it yet. But this is only a guess on my part.

As for allowing the passing of Bill C-10, I’m sure Harper would have found some way of passing it regardless.

  14. Yeah, cops are idiots. I remember watching the show with the same name once and a cop was telling a suspect that being high on pot was the exact same as being drunk or high on a more dangerous substance like blow or acid.

  15. Actually Tim I bitch about this and I don’t complain about recidivism. Bills like this just keep incompetent cops employed.

Oh those hippie pot smokers, such a menace to society!

  16. I love how OB assumes none of us wrote or talked to our elected representatives – maybe we did, but it still passed anyway because we have a majority government, and our dear leader doesn’t have to give a fuck what we think until the next time around! Jesus. It sucks, but it’s not my fault. So fuck you OB
