To the restaurants that decided to stay closed after the hurricane on Saturday even after the power came back on: fuck you. You’ve got the most lazy employees working!
I went around the city looking for restaurants that were open. I found ones that were in areas that had power (the traffic lights and everything around them were working) and THEY WERE STILL CLOSED!
Why were you closed? Were the employees too pussy to go out to work or something? It wasn’t even that bad outside! I wanted to get out of the house and get something to eat, but nooooo you had to stay closed! —Hungry n Bored

Solution: Cook your own food, dumbass.
Oh no, I guess you’ll have to…EAT IN!
…seriously, just rip open a box of KD or something you dumbass.
It’s entirely possible that they couldn’t call in a huge amount of staff on such short notice, but whatever…
It’s not that horrible to stay in…
OP, employees don’t decide if the restaurant opens or not. Management and owners do.
The restaurant I work at was one of the few that was open, and we were certainly busy…
I know of one tavern that was open. It was extremely busy, staff working their asses, and people bitching because the service was slower than usual instead of being gratified that they were open to serve them. Some people are just plain selfish assholes.
Ahh actually dumbass there’s actually a task called mise en place to do in any est. above like fast food; no power no prep capice?
too stupid to do your own cooking, or just too what, lazy also.
Just one question OP – how do you manage to wield knife and fork with those nails through the palms of your hands?
I went to Bayers Lake because I knew they didn’t lose power there. A lot of people there, so there was a bit of a wait for seats. One guy was told it would be about 30 minute wait, and he said, “Are you SERIOUS???” I guess someone forgot to mention to this OP and this guy I saw, that hurricane affects even the restaurants.
I know of a place that stayed closed because they had damage in their kitchen that made it unsafe for people to eat there. Damage that was unable to be looked after because the repair person couldn’t do the necessary repairs during the hurricane.
So chill a little man.
Fuck you, OP. I work in a kitchen and our power was only out for about an hour. That hour really affected weather or not we would be ready for Saturday night service. This shit doesn’t just come out of a box. People work very hard in restaurants. It was just so nice to finally get a day off. Youre the stupid one for not keeping any food at home.
You’re a douche, OP. Ever think that the restaurant sent home employees and doesn’t want to call them back a few hours later? Ever think that maybe the restaurant wasn’t able to contact its employees? Ever think of making your own damn sandwich?
OP did you ever think that maybe the power was off long enough in the restaurant to let food spoil? Or there was no time for prep? Or that maybe the restaurant owners think their staff have enough problems (childcare in a power outage, making sure their family was safe, getting ice for their own homes etc) that they would rather staff take the day off?
Dear Earl, Kindly write a sincere letter of apology to the OP, they are severely inconvenienced by your untimely arrival on our fair shores. You do realise that this has significantly affected their swill slopping routine and they may never recover to their full self entitled, smug, arrogant shiteating selves.
Kindly pass this message to any other of your Hurricane/Summer storm friends.
Here endeth the first reading. dominus obiscus, please pass me a choirboy.
You can tell how much of a tool the OP just from the title “You ain’t gettin no more of my business!”
I hate grammar nazis but COME ON!! You sound stupid.
Let me correct it for you: “You are not getting any more of my business”. There.
OP, how come you didn’t have any food at home? You weren’t prepared for a power outage, despite all the warnings? Oh, let me guess…You’re of the “Don’t believe the Hype” school of thought…know-what-I’m-sayin’?
The author of that earlier bitch and you should get together and start a super high-maintenance diva club.
OP is a tit…… yeah, they’re going to open as soon as the power comes back on because they have that special SELF-PREPARING food that is ready to cook as soon as you touch it. Seriously…. there is a reason chefs/cooks, even serving staff need to go in a couple of hours before a restaurant opens. Apparently you are more bored than hungry, and even more dumb than both. I am glad the power came back on so you could go back to your Mr. Noodle and Tang.
As per Mr Fawlty’s idea:
Dear Earl,
please tell all your hurricane/tropical storm buddies that the OP could use a lift. Preferably into a very deep area of ocean. If any of your buddies are planning on passing through here any time soon, please ask them to kindly Wizard of Oz the OP’s arrogant lazy ass straight into the ocean. Thanks, NW.
I agree with the OP. If the power is on, they should be open.
What an outrage! With all the problems in the world right now, I am most disheartened to hear about a restaurant not being open when they had electricity.
Oh, the humanity! *yawn*
OP is a fat assed lazy loser.
It is their business and they have the right to do what they think it best for it and their staff. Of course you do not have to go there again and spend your $$$. They may be just as happy not to see you either, O.P. Could be many reasons, aside from the power outage why they remained closed – sheesh!
A big shout out to the Lion’s Head Tavern. They were the only restaurant in the area and must have served thousands of meals. I showed up towards the end and the staff were ready to collapse, but they kept their humour.
Also, the Garrison Brewery was open and serving beer, even though they didn’t have electricity. Good times….
Oh yeah, and the Perk’s Cafe near the Ferry Terminal was selling the public coffee and sandwiches galore.
So SOME places really came through!
If you wanted a particular restaurant’s food OP, why didn’t you break down the door and get it yourself? Clearly, this is all your fault somehow.
This bitch was was waste of my time to read, the business wasn’t open after a hurricane hit us, big whoop. My restaurant was open and didn’t lost power at all, I worked a 16 hour shift so that people like OP could come and get their Timmies fix.
Man, people have awful grammar in this thread.
Blehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
That’s me throwing up (my home cooked meal) all over your stupid bitch.
Hey, OP what abut the places that had power then lost it for 4 hours and sent everyone home. Power came back, called people back in…only for the power to go out again for two hours…all the patrons left and NS Power (the stupid cunts) said power wouldn’t be restored until 11:30 the next day so they sent people home again.
Then power was restored again…for another 2 hours and went back out.
I guess you want people to sit around in the dark hoping that the power MIGHT come back on so they can cook for your ignorant lazy ass.
How about either fend for yourself OR GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!
And what the fuck do street lamps being on have to do with a restaurant being open? You are aware the power grids don’t mean every thing in a 2 block radius is the same grid, right? You know your neighbours can have power while yours is out if you’re on a different grid, don’t you?
You really are a fucking moron
a friend gave me a little revelation yesterday…
HEAD TO A HOSPITAL.
they always have power and have a pretty good cafeteria … well in halifax anyways…
hey you, buddy. go fuck yourself you shallow self absorbed shithead. oh and another thing, buy some groceries the next time you have a weeks notice that there is a major storm coming and power outages are to be expected. Idiot.
OP… I’m presently seeing someone who works in a Sevice Industry job. Did you know that when the RCMP/Police Services put out a stay off the road notice/advisement & living out in the country like i do… We have a legitimate reason to STAY OFF THE ROADS.
We can use this to STAY HOME FROM WORK.
I know this is true because I had an employer try to say ,”You have to come into work” & we told him, you best check with your lawyer, because legally we do not.
He checked… I was right.
So in a storm situation, as an employee, you can request to be sent home early, because of the storm. You can refuse to come to work if the Police say stay off the roads.
And 1 final tid bit for you, if you are in a motor vehicle accident & you are on the roads after police told you not to be there…THe lovely people at the insurance company can deny your claim…because you shouldn’t have been on the road in the first place ! ! !
Your right to a sandwick sir does not over rule anyone else’s right to be safe !
because restaurant (and mall or any kind of retail) workers enjoy having some time off. Get the hell over yourself and realize that not everyone revolves around you and your spoiled brat wants. want want want want want. You know what I want? you idiots to realize that we too have a life and it takes a hurricane (that I will admit wasnt that bad) to shut down the malls/stores. We deserve a break too.
I have a feeling you’re one of those customers who is never happy with ANYTHING you’re given either.
Srsly. Wtf? You’re retarded and clearly do NOT know about labour laws. You can’t just call your employees up and say ‘Heyo! Powers back on. Get here as fast as you can.” You need at LEAST 24hrs to let people know they need to come to work. Get over yourself and microwave something. Dumbass.
