Here’s a question…why should Nova Scotians pay for a drug (PrEP) that wouldn’t be necessary if you fine people would learn to wear condoms and act responsibly? You have a choice at wellness. People don’t choose to get cancer…you are like cigarette smokers. You know the risks of your chosen lifestyle, and yet you continue to behave in an irresponsible manner.   1. Oh God…that’s like saying “why do we pay for birth control pills for women…why can’t they just use condoms or be responsible?”. Or “Why do we pay people in this country to have children…why can’t they just live within their means and bear the cost themselves”…etc. I could go on and on with examples but the reason is simple:

    Because people just WILL NOT…refuse to…take responsibility for their own actions. You know that…and that’s why it’s necessary to provide PrEP.

    Now I don’t necessarily agree with it either…in fact half the government money that flows out of the taxpayer’s coffers makes me wanna scream…but look at it this way:

    If we don’t try to slow HIV/AIDS down, it’s going to cost a LOT more to treat all the people who pick it up. Their medical requirements are far more complicated than “a pill”. Right? Maybe if we’re lucky PrEP will actually start to reduce the virus to the point where we’re actually making a dent in it…or parish the thought…it eventually disappears altogether?

    I just wish they would spend as much time looking for a cure for cancer as they have for HIV.

  13. If it were only as simple, like your petty arguments. Logan, if you are going to fight with the pros then you had better be prepared. To further discuss the matter with you, I need you to educate yourself on the issue. I cannot fight with an unarmed person; that’s not fair. I don’t pay attention to a child’s temper tantrums; they are simply seeking attention and will take any form of it. You are having a child-like temper tantrum, seeking attention of any form. Once you learn to behave like an adult and are better educated on the issue, then we can debate. But right now? You’re just being a troll. A very sad troll.
