Two parents abandon their 14-month old baby in a stroller in a parking lot by itself? That’s some amazingly horrible parenting.
What’s going on up there in Cape Breton? In my opinion, I hope Child Services removes the child from these people… the child deserves a better life. —Responsible_Parent

Interesting: comments are banned on CBC and Chronicle Herald message boards, but the Coast allows it. I think it’s cool personally, just watch out though. That kid’s identity is protected and anyone can come on here and identify it and/or the parents.

Seriously people should need a license in order to have kids.It’s so sad that some people who would make amazing parents try so hard but can’t have kids, then there are so many morons out there who shouldn’t even be allowed to babysit and they’re popping kids out like crazy!
The manufacturers of Oxycodone should produce a parenting guide, with commonsense rules so simple that even a drooling addict could follow them.

I saw an interview with the grandmother of the baby, she said she called Child Services several times before. Nothing was done until the baby was abandoned. Way to protect the interests of idiot parents over the well being of a helpless baby…
Go on Cape Breton Post – the whole town is giving their 2 cents about how bad the parents are and how CSA has been called and called – but they just kept taking the baby back to the 21 year old unfit parents.
So sad 🙁 and there are tons of people out there who would love to be parents and can’t have kids…

fucking assholes should be shot, or better yet, just dismembered while still alive and breathing, one little piece at a time. i volunteer to do the carving.
I know people get all fucked up & indignant because its a baby & Parents* are suppose to protect,care,love their precious baby.
(Note ; parents* used only to identify family position not that these people should actually be considered a parent(s)
But let’s look at this in a broader perspective…not that we are going to, not consider the baby as the main point.
The story tells us that 1)this isn’t the first time this young couple have come in contact with the authorities.
2) There are concerned family members contacting the authorities, & trying to do LEGALLY what they can to protect the baby & get help for their addicted family member (remember addiction is considered an illness)
People should IMO be fucking upset ,mad, etc. because the authorities have allowed these parents* to retain possession of the baby ! They have even gone so far as to take the baby away from other family who are not drug addicts, & return it to drug addicts, because they are the parents*.
So exactly who is the biggest fuck up here ?
IMO it isn’t the parents* who still have possesion of the baby, everyone knows they’re fuck ups…No I believe it is those who are in a position to make a difference, who have dropped the ball on this.
Before any of you go on about the rules, etc child services has to follow…remember when child services had a raid in the middle of the night to take a child from VandenElsen & Finck … they went in in the middle of the night !
So before you carve someone up L S , you might want to carve off the ass of some of the others who also truely deserves it.

The thought of a little baby abandoned in a parking lot by two people who are supposed to love him more than anything else in life just kills me. If I had the means, I’d castrate them both. The only solace I feel is knowing the baby was abandoned and not actually beaten to death- such as occured in a few stories I’ve heard. I hope the grandparents, next of kin or whoever cares for the baby now will give him the life he deserves. I know someone who, along with his 2 kids, was abandoned by a c— of a woman. Both he and his kids are so happy now- and thriving thanks to his amazing extended family. For once, a real life story with a happy ending.
The parents must be some of those dumbasses that left their dogs in their cars a few days ago. Into the furnace you awful parents/dog owners must go!
yes more, you are right there. let’s not carve up the parents, but the fucked up social justice system as well. this pisses me and i might say, a whole lot of other real parents off. and whether they be addicted or not, has no real bearing here, they just fucking dropped off a baby. what if there were a coyote walking thru there, and yes, they are thriving in c.b., because natural resources, won’t allow people tp kill these fucking things when they see them. i had a big bitch out about two months back, with some idiot from there, about this very scenerio panning out, but not an abandoned baby, just a kid in a stroller. i could have beaten the fuck out of this asshole for his answer,” do you kill all dogs because of a certain breed tendency”.no, but i will shoot every wild fucking coyote i see tho you fucking jerkwad. but back to social non- services, yeah, they are a royal fuck up, and if they want to sue me, go fucking for it, because, in the end, i will still be right, and they will still be wrong,as always.
Don’t get me wrong L S …the parents* deserve to be punished for their stupidity & possibly if punished by incarceration they could get help. I just wanted to point out, there was more wrong here than just the actions of 2 druggies
