I am getting so sick and tired of having to read about another unionized bunch of workers in either the private or public sector crying for more! Take a look around you people you all have it pretty good compared to the average non-unionized Nova Scotian. Take for instance a worker who is making $69,000 per year but that’s not enough! Now the hospitals and universities all want more! When will enough be enough!!! Just because you can doesn’t mean you should! Unions had their place in bygone days. Now they are like the Mafia holding us all for ransom until they get what they want whether it’s warranted or not!! I for one am sick and fucking tired of it! —crusty55

Well at least the union at Olands accepted their agreement.
Not that they want MORE ….. unionized employees want to maintain what they have ….. HUGE difference (and one you will never understand) unless they roll back minimum wage 5 years or cut off your monthly allowance. Sheesh, are ya fucked?
And yet you would be singing a different tune if you were in one. Know what? Try making noise about improving what most poor min-wage bastards in this province have to put up with, instead of bitching about people who have it better. I’m suck of this sour grapes, woe is me shit.
and we are getting sick and tired of union bitches here. we can’t do fuck all about it, o.p., and even if we could, i wouldn’t. suit yourself if you wanna waste time on here, whining and crying about the big, bad unions. they don’t give a fuck about you or anyone, cept maybe themselves.
most of the drivers i know and talk to, would love to have 5 minutes alone with mr. asshole wilson. and they would not be nice minutes. the only way to settle this shit, once and for all time, is to do what i suggested the other day. that is to take wilson, and kelly, put them in a windowless, bathroom less room, lock the fucking door, and give them plenty of tim’s coofee. and no, they aren’t allowed out til it’s figured out. should take all of 4-6 hours time.
Op, let me summarize some of your bitch…….you said you are tired of unionized workers striking because they are already making more than non-unionized workers( a suggestion that unions are better) …….then you move on to say that unions are a thing of bygone days.
Yawn!!
You’d be singing a whole different tune if you were in a union, OB! I’d bet both my kittehs on it.
You juss jelly!
Unions, in theory are good. The main problem I see with them is, the employees actually think they work for the union, not the company that employs them, making it impossible for the managers to manage. They completely destroy any feelings of company dedication and pride, using “collective agreements” instead of hard work to determine pay structure and compensation, lumping lazy bad employees under the same umbrella as ones with good work ethics. They breed an atmosphere through “mob mentality”, that the employees are being mistreated and under compensated (which in the case of good employees vs bad employees, is completely true.). It must really suck to be a dedicated team player, and know that you will never be payed more than your lazy brethren. Unions will use any tactic to force the position of “us-vs-them” on their membership, all the while knowing that in most cases the employer is not the “enemy”. Their constant need to justify their existence and the dues they collect from members, becomes their agenda, and jeopardizing the relationship between employee and management becomes the status quo. If you listen to how Ken Wilson carries himself in the media, unfortunately, the “union force” is strong with this one!!!
Believe me when I say that I have worked for companies where unions would be a welcome support system, giving you the much needed security of knowing that at the end of any given day, depending on the mood of management/owners, you would still have a job. It’s unfortunate that the employees that really need a union don’t have one, and the ones that have one, the union seems antiquated.
As the gap between rich and poor gets bigger, more idiots like you will appear, ie the ignorant disenfranchised.
