This is for the people who feel that because they love their dog, everyone else should and does. NO not the case. Please don’t let your dog jump on me and my child as I walk down a public street. Dont leave your dog outside the front of your house to use the bathroom and then go back in until he cones back. Your little fucker came right over to my house and chewed a hole in my garbage (that HRM waited until 5pm to pick up) and left garbage all over my lawn. when i came out to get this mutt away, he went to the neighbors and shit on their lawn. Owner comes out and calls dog like nothing happened. Same dog likes to go under the fences and shit in my backyard every time hes out. Im warning you now, if i see your dog in my yard again, he will be a dead dog. Im getting very frustrated with useless dog owners that dont want to control their dogs. Just because you love animals, dosnt mean everyone else does or has to. have some respect. —control your shit

I tell you one thing, sport, you threaten my dogs life and you will be in a world of hurt. If you want people to take you seriously, you better not start with a threat of violence. That is an owner problem, not a dog problem. No responsible owner lets their dog wander around city streets while they aren’t present.
OB, having dealt with a similar situation, I feel your pain.
However, now is the time to act like a reasonable adult. First, approach the owner over your concerns. There is very little animal control can and/or will do until you try and resolve the issue on your own. Second, call animal control. If you don’t get any satisfaction from step one, call them. Document conversations with your neighbour (date and time, what was said). Take photos and/or video of the dog crapping on your lawn and jumping on your kid. I know I will probably face criticism (WHAT??? Why would you stand there and take a video when a dog is jumping on your kid????) but seriously, unless there is proof- undeniable, unequivocal proof- there is very little animal control can do.

animal control can and will contact your neighbour if they receive a complaint of a dog running at large. neighbour can be fined. but really, speak to him/her first.
