It is unbelievable how the commissionaires are treated at the QE11hospital. First of all the shifts are always short, Maybe if the so called boss or headquarters gave an incentive EX: Overtime or a day off if you work over 48hrs a week. NO nothing at all. Can’t even get overtime so why should people work. At christmas they get a box of chocolates to share between 6 people on a shift. Like what kind of outfit are they running.Like get a grip on your so called security company and start treating your people better. You might find out that you have more and better staffing. No going short all the time.

NEVER MIND

  1. What are you talking about? How is working overtime, or having more chocolates to share between them ‘part of their job’?Yes, why should people work their REGULAR hours if they can’t get OVERTIME (read: more $$) whereas I’m sure the company has a profit margin they need to keep regardless of how many chocolates they require for their regular length shift.

  2. Well the whole sharing chocolates between 6 of them really is not the issue. I work with (I am not a commisionaire) at a different site and see how they are treated. I know for a fact that their HQ squanders money from them. Let’s say their wage is 9.99 an hour. Well they should be paid minimum $13 an hour. They usually work 12 hour shifts with one half an hour break (if they are lucky) and that’s that. No break every 3 hours, one 30 minute break per shift. Getting to the overtime issue. The money these people are not receiving help pay for HQ parties, vehicles and so on and so on. There are plenty of people who will work the extra hours without being paid overtime because they feel as if they will lose their jobs if they don’t. Now I know this may not be the issue for all commissionaires at all sites but I’ve worked side by side for the past 4 years and have seen just some of the “perks” of being a commissionaire, and believe me if I had their boss as my boss I wouldnt stay.
