So I work at a local business in the north end, and something that I hate is when people come in drunk. We have a lot of bars in the north end and a lot of people who enjoy to drink, and almost like clock work we get one or two people who come in completely smashed, and I’m forced to be the bad guy who has to kick them out. We’ve dealt with people yelling, knocking over displays and flat out stealing in front of me…I was going to put up a sigh to say “drinking is done at the bar not our store” but the boss said it would look bad on us…I wish I could to deter this in some fashion. I’m honestly tired and frustrated. —Someone who doesn’t get paid enough

Darnit, I thought this was going to be about the band.
You say you are dealing with people who are drunk so probably a good bet that putting up a sign is not going to make much difference in their behavior. Be it old fashioned Bowery style bums or tipsy Hipsters many drunks tend to not act overly well in some places.
If you wish to continue to work in a place frequented by such folks and your boss is not being too helpful with deterrents such as extra staff, a good set of procedures etc. then you may have grow a much thicker skin and at least hit said boss up for a hot line to the cop shop, a decent baseball bat for behind the counter, and a good escape route.
Or start looking for another job. Meanwhile, welcome to the hood – it is not all just coffee shops and hip restos. Either that or prepare to be even more tired and frustrated. All that designer beer, cider and locally made liquor that is also being sold in the area is not much different than any hooch when it affects someone’s brain and how they act.

You probably don’t! I wouldn’t be dealing with drunks like that if I were say, making minimum wage….go get another job!

Alcohol is literally a poison, and people who drink themselves into assholes are lame as fuck!! I can’t think of a worse way to spend my time (acting like a dick and working my way up to a hangover).
I say time for another job.
