on my bus commute into work, I counted 56 Tim Horton’s coffee cups on the side of the road. Mind you, this was my count on only ONE side of the road, from the Dartmouth Sportsplex to Burnside. Fifty-fucking-six! Am I the only one who thinks this is crazy? I was only counting Tim Horton’s cups, mind you. This is not including all of the other garbage lining the streets. What the fuck is wrong with everybody? I can’t believe the ignorance of all those who think it’s okay to toss trash out of the car window. I’m embarassed, and ashamed to share a planet with you.

Lost my appetite on the 51.

  1. Yeah, so what I don’t understand about all this garbage on the side of the road is why all these teens in trouble are not out there picking it up in their orange jumpsuits doing community service. They get charged with something and either go home or go to some kind of group home where they continue to get in trouble and sit around on their lazy asses. Put them to work and let them know they will be put to work, maybe they would think twice about getting into the trouble because they know they won’t be let off to just keep living their lives, they would have to actually do some WORK with some “major supervision” hopefully by a hard old retired army sergent! that would be cool. I’m all for bringing back Community Service for these deliquents.

  3. wanna bet how many came from drivers? ooh mama, i don’t wanna mess up my upholstery…chuck the cup out the window.

  4. lisa, i don’t believe it’s the teens who threw them.the trouble with teenagers today are their role models…and they’re all mostly grown-ups.i have more faith in our teens. don’t blame them because of a few scumbag-teenagers with no brains.

  5. Hey lol,I never blamed the teens, I said why aren’t the ones getting in trouble with the law not having to do any community service, plse reread my post. It would one one perfect job I could think they could do. Why not put them to work instead of putting them on curfews and releasing them to their parents, which doesn’t seem to be doing its job. I agree that good role models are important, I also think alot of infulence is had through who they may choose to hang out with. You are born with your personality, your either a leader or a follower.

  6. What’s the reason for not having community service? (I wasn’t aware this was true). Are we afraid someone might see who they are and know they did something bad, and abandon them to a life of crime because no one will hire a jeuvenile delinquent who had to pick up trash and actually do something productive? Probably better for us all to keep them off the chain gang and in the street gang.

  7. Oh, and lol, I wish our kids’ role models were mostly adults, but I have the feeling they are more likely looking to each other to figure out how to be adults. But if you were only talking about litter-bug adults setting a bad example, I buy that too.

  8. I agree completely with Lisa. Next time a kid beats the fuck out of a kitten with a golf club…chain his ankles up and give him a pair of rubber gloves AT LEAST.have a nice day 🙂

  9. This is what they do in the States… I’ve seen it myself. Great idea Lisa, I think this would be much better than most of the punishments they’re handing kids these days
