I just found out that my pet was cremated at a disgusting business location. I am so sad that my vet told me that my pet would be treated with respect. A simple warning to pet owners. Please do your research as to where your vet is sending your dear pet. My pet was sent to a disgusting shed in the woods. Not what I spent over $300 for. —A Sad Halifax Pet Owne

  1. I think a lot of vets were caught on this one. they just didn’t know what the cremation company was doing. the name is now out there, no one will be using their services.

  2. What’s the name? I paid almost a thousand dollars to cremate 2 pets in the last year or so, and I would really like to know if my vet was selling these packages as well.

  3. not sure if it will get past coast guidelines. the video shows names. location etc plus some of the pets names. do you want to send me an email to gooddogmolly@hotmail.ca and I will send it to you, or I can send to mutual person here.

  4. Hey SHITTY: it may or may not sound like ’em’ ‘eee’ ‘cee’ pet services.

It’s definitely NOT Metro Pet Creamatory.

  5. I confess that my eyes GOOGLED at reading this story. Sounds like a case of MALPRACTICE, AT the the very least. To think that a beloved family PET would be entrusted to such an a apparently shoddy CREMATION. Clearly a pet owner would be rendering area veterinarians great SERVICES in pointing this out to them.

  6. I couldn’t be more pissed. I saw the video with bins of bagged pets with a date of march 4, 2012. 25 days before I put my sweet girl down and my vet was listed as a user of this service. I think they will be getting an angry phone call today. Mothefucker!!!!!!! I wonder how many pets I have in my box????

  7. Stephen, this is awful for you. the video was horrible. I feel sick for anyone seeing it who recognized their beloved’s name on one of those hideous bags.

  8. Oh SHITTY 🙁

I’m sooo sorry to hear that.

I’d be switching vets. Those fuckers need to burn in hell for doing what they did. I can’t even imagine how awful this must feel.

PS: sorry for your loss, OB. I lost my kitteh in February and it just sucks 🙁

  9. I just got off the phone with my vet. Apparently this is a fake video made by his competition to sully his name.

Not sure I 100% believe that or not!!!!

Our kitty, Louis, was put down a year or so after Molly and they used the same fucking company. I don’t feel confident that my pets got what I paid for or were treated with the dignity they were promised. I will be switching vets.

  10. I guess there’s something to be said for burying your pet in the backyard. I understand that’s not an option for everybody but that’s what I have done with our pets on their passing.

  11. I have a small cemetery in our yard by the big rock. cats Boog, Mudd and Jenna are buried there. But I plan to have the dogs cremated, they are just too big to bury plus molly gets scared by herself, she has to be near me. and all my beliefs about no afterlife etc just disappear when it comes to her. she will be kept in the house, in my bedroom, until I die.
that video looks legit. I don’t know why a vet would say it had been created to sully his name. there were several vets listed who used the service. I wouldn’t expect a vets office to investigate the premises of the cremation service they used.

  12. Probably just to make me feel better, I guess. I was on hold for quite a while, while the girl “talked to the office manager”. Not sure why the manager didn’t nut up and explain this shit to me, instead of some receptionist. That’s the part that really burns my ass. If there was ever a time where the managers services were needed, it would probably be then. That’s the main reason I’m switching vets. If my concern of how my pets remains were handled are too much of a bother for the manager to field, then they won’t be seeing me again. This after paying 3800 dollars a month ago for removing a tumour from my special little guy. Not cool!!!!!

  13. I don’t believe it was fake, either.

The place I had Molls done at is 110% professional. Only $140 to have Molly done, including the urn and I had her back within 48 hours. They even have a place at their facility for families to say good bye to their pet. They seem too legit to make some dumb video to discredit their competition since they’ve expanded and do a lot of business.

Your vet is feeding you bologna to defend itself and not look like shits.

No doubt they get a payoff from the skeezy crematorium.

Doesn’t help you feel any better, though, I realize. 🙁

  14. PS: Halifax vet group and Pet Focus are excellent groups. I go to the clayton park pet focus and see dr farrow and he’s amazing, and a good friend takes her kitteh to the folks at hfx vet on quinpool and LOVES her cat’s doc.

  15. Sorry to hear of horror stories Pk and Steve. You’re right Reg, not many are lucky to have the situation of a back yard. My 2 kitties are close to me.

  16. I feel so sick to my stomach right now, knowing that poor Louie and Molly were both sent to this place for cremation after they passed away.

Of course the staff at our (former) vet clinic aren’t going to admit to this happening. They’ll say whatever they can to ensure the business keeps running and people keep spending (too much, if you ask me) money on their pets. I could seriously vomit thinking about this. 🙁

  17. 4 dead cats buried in our backyard, the hound was cremated and the ashes delivered to us. this whole thread makes me heart sick

  18. So sorry to hear about what you’ve been through OP, Shitty and Poop….I was just at my vet (also part of the Hfx Vet Group) with my friend’s pitty (really sick)–they were all so wonderful, as always. We saw Doc Harris today, because our usual doc (Dr. West) was off–happy to pass on deets to anyone who needs a good vet/vet clinic (shesang@hotmail.ca)…..that being said, I agree that a backyard burial is the best thing–I have a few pets at the little pet cemetery under the maple tree at my parents’ house, but most have been cremated trough my vet, and treated with great respect and dignity. <3
