To the childish assholes across the street who host their stupid fucking video game nights until 6am seemingly every Tuesday night, learn some fucking respect. It must be nice to just sell weed and play video games 24/7 but most of us on your street work for a living. Quite the concept eh! Sleeping with your windows closed and your fan cranked in August sucks. Even worse I could still hear your dumbass, pointless conversations . In a perfect world your overworked gaming console would explode killing the whole lot of you assholes. Get a fucking life or host your fucking video wankfests on a Friday or Saturday. Assholes!

  1. They must be pretty loud if you can hear them from accross the street! I feel for you OP.
    Call the cops.

  2. suck it up pudding cake!!!! I work the night shift and sleep in until noon…i’m constantly woke up by unnecessary bullshit. Deal with it asshole!

  3. seems to me that you wish you the one who sold weed and played video games all day. It is a fucking great way to make a living…..rock on weed and video game players, i suggest getting even louder

  4. If they’re so rowdy that they keep you up all night just call the cops and file a noise complaint. If the noise level doesn’t get any better call again and file another complaint, they should eventually get the hint.

  5. OB, i wouldn’t put up with that kind of inconsiderate bullshit, call the cops on them. they are disturbing the peace and breaking the noise bylaw, simple as that. after 11pm, nuisance neighbours must keep the noise down. they should have to shut their windows, not you.

Call the Police, either 911 or non-emergency at 490-5020

    Halifax Noise Bylaw N-200
    http://www.halifax.ca/legislation/Bylaws/h…

    Section 3 – General Prohibition

    (1) No person shall engage in any activity that unreasonably disturbs or tends to disturb the peace and tranquillity of a neighbourhood.

    (2) Without limiting the generality of subsection (1), the activities listed in Schedule “A” during the prohibited times and places as set out therein are deemed to be activities that unreasonably disturb the peace and tranquillity of a neighbourhood.

    (3) For the purpose of a prosecution pursuant to subsections (1) or (2), evidence that one neighbour is unreasonably disturbed by a noise is prima facie evidence that the neighbourhood is unreasonably disturbed by the noise.

  6. Don’t call 911. Call the non-emergency number techcafe listed. 911 is for emergencies, which this is not.

  7. actually, nevermind, i once asked the dispatcher about that (re noise violations), and was told it didn’t matter, 911 or 490-5020, although i agree, it’s not an ’emergency’ per se, but incredibly irritating nevertheless.

personally, i would use the non-emergency number for noise complaints. although, if i were the OB, i might also approach the disrespectful neighbours first and politely, but firmly, inform them that behaving like inconsiderate asshats during all hours of the night is just not on. fair warning… then call the cops if they still want to be inconsiderate jerks.

  8. I guess I stand corrected techcafe. Though I used to call the non-emergency number when I worked in the pubs when there were fights happening outside the bar (if it was in the bar, I considered it an emergency).

If these neighbours really are drug dealers, and that’s not just an assumption the OP’s making, then one visit from the police should solve the problem, one way or another.

And if they are drug dealers, I’m not sure I’d advise knocking on their door, as that could cause problems for you down the line. Depending on what kind of dealers they are.

  9. ah you’re right, i missed the part about them being ‘drug dealers’… i thought they were just potheads playing videogames and being obnoxious all night.

you’d think that if these jokers were ‘smart’ dealers, they’d use a little more discretion, and not get the neighbourhood all riled up by being so LOUD with their late night activities.

  10. “Some of us on your street work assholes!”
Are there a lot of gigolos on your street or are you the only one? I’m guessing you live somewhere near Citadel Hill if you’re “working assholes” for a living.

  11. I can sympathize with the OP honestly. In summer 2007, I was doing summer courses and my younger neighbour was laid off. Classes started at 8am for me but neighbour usually got to sleep around 7am.

He and his cronies would be up nighty getting trashed and woke me up on several occasions. And, this dweeb was selling dimes while collecting EI. He made it a point one day to come up and show me about $400 worth of new “gear” he just bought b/c he “didn’t think he’d be ballin’ out of control like this!”

After being woken up at about 4am several times I filed a noise complaint with the rental management. Didn’t “rat” on him, but thought he could use a lesson in responsibility.

  12. Oh. Forgot to mention that his product was wack and fucker actually once asked me, “Did you pick up papers yet?” This was when he was showing me the “new ballin’-out gear”. Then asked if I had extra toilet paper b/c he forgot to get any. He actually asked for papers/tp twice that day.

  13. Before you call the cops, wouldnt it be reasonable to just go over and ask them to keep it down on tuesday nights?
