  1. Absolutely get Ms. Trashtalker fired. Anyone who illegally goes through someone’s personal medical records deserves to get fired & to be banned from any job where confidentiality is a priority. No excuse for this & fucking disgusting to boot. You go, OP! Here’s hoping her next job includes the phrase: ‘Would you like fries with that?’

  3. Actually, IGROKSPOCK, the person in question probably will get fired, and possibly prosecuted.

    NHSA/IWK tracks that shit like nobody’s business and it’s made clear to employees upon mandatory orientation that it is illegal to look at the medical files of someone you have absolutely no business looking at, and is grounds for dismissal. In fact, employees of both NHSA and the IWK health authorities have to take ‘confidentiality and privacy’ courses every year and sign a confidentiality agreement that outlines the policy against looking in files you shouldn’t be looking at. You can’t even look at your own file while at work! You have to go through the same channels as everyone else to get access to your medical files because you cannot be both an employee and a patient at the same time.

    So yes, this person will probably get canned.
